Had to come to this local favorite while we were visiting Oahu. Parking a little challenging but they've got a parking lot with high turnover. You order from the window and they've got some tables and chairs to dine at. Went with the boneless chicken with gravy which came with a VERY generous serving. The gravy is very rich and tbh it lasted me two servings and the leftovers tasted even better for dinner! Love the macaroni salad that it came with to balance out how heavy the chicken and gravy was. Highly recommend this place come hungry! 5/5

Rainbow Drive Cafe offers great value for money and serves delicious food. I recently tried their mixed plate, and it was outstanding! The fish was crispy and bursting with flavor. This was my second visit, and once again, it exceeded my expectations. I'm looking forward to returning to try their shoyu chicken. The service was prompt and efficient, which I appreciate. Can't wait to go back!

Local gem. They don't disappoint and quality of food is consistent. Visiting Waikiki and made "a few" trips out to Rainbow. The loco moco is my favorite, oh also the gravy fries. Also tried the Rainbow burger and it was good. Ohhh and the Mac salad hits!! Order ahead on the app or in person. The lines move fast if you don't. Also, food comes out quick and its always fresh and hot.

Hawaiian local classic. I love Rainbows. It's comfort food and that's my thing so I'm probably going to be bias here.. Mix plate - This is my go to. The first few times I've had it, it was amazing. I haven't had it since pre-pandemic but went recently for the first time and it was still good but not as good as I remember it being. The mac salad was still solid though. The loco moco on the other hand... just W.O.W. I'm not a huge loco moco guy. I always felt like it looks and sounds better than it actually tasted but this time it really hit the spot. I recommend getting the plate instead of the small bowl because the plate comes with eggs and I don't think the bowl does. For the breakfast specials, make sure you come somewhat early because they do run out. Saimin - I've only had saimin here so I can't compare it to other places but it was cool. The only thing I'm not huge on is the burgers. I think the buns are huge but the patty is small. Sometimes it felt like I was just eating bread and nothing else.

This was the first stop we had because of TikTok and it didn't disappoint. I only took one star off just because of the service. It wasn't the best, but not the worst. The food felt pretty authentic and it definitely hit the spot. I think pricing is great for what you are getting! It's definitely on the cheaper side. We went an hour before closing on a Tuesday and it was a ghost town. Only two other people eating around. We drove by it during the day and it was crazy packed. Overall, if you are near by you gotta give this place a try!

Solid place for a Hawaiian plate. We got the mixed plate and the loco moco, Both were great. The mac salad was yummy too. All the food is really heavy though so maybe don't plan to do anything too crazy after! Side note: the birds here have NO CHILL. We had to literally swat one away from my food. Do not leave your food unattended for a second!!

We stopped by Rainbow's because our shaved ice spot next door was closing, and they told us that we could go and eat it at rainbow's instead. We saw a line and decided to grab some dinner here as well. We got the boneless chicken with gravy. It reminded me of country fried steak. It wasn't anything super amazing, but if you consider the price, it's not bad. There was a good amount of food, and it came with a macaroni salad and rice on the side as well! Service was a bit all over the place though. They started out with two lines. One line moved super fast, while the second barely moved. Then when we tried to switch lines, they said their line stopped taking orders. So that felt a bit disorganized. Otherwise, food was decent for the price.
